Thursday, July 28

All day Vendor Exhibits
  Shop for Phi Kappa Sigma merchandise and services from some of our vendors, including Spirit Wear, ScottyGear, and GEICO!
2:00 – 2:30PM
Delegate Orientation
  Hosted by the Parliamentarian, official Chapter delegates will get up to speed on all of the responsibilities and decisions that being a Grand Chapter voting delegate entails.
3:00 – 4:30PM General Session - Day 1
  A welcome and introduction to Grand Chapter, as well as a discussion on where the Fraternity has been in the two years since the last Grand Chapter, and where it’s going in the future.
5:00 – 6:30PM
Phi Kappa Sigma Partnership: the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
  Attendees will learn more about the partnership that Phi Kappa Sigma has with LLS from one of the organizations staff/volunteers, as well as hear from other chapters of the Fraternity about the success of their local philanthropic events.
7:00 – 10:00PM Dinner, Alpha Epsilon guided Chapter House tour, and Social Event
  Enjoy a Chicago-themed buffet at Illinois Tech campus recreation center (The Bog), followed by bowling, video games, and karaoke in the campus bar!  On the way, be sure to stop in for a guided tour of the Alpha Epsilon Chapter House on the IIT campus.

Friday, July 29

8:00 – 9:00AM Continental Breakfast
9:00 – 10:30AM General Session - Day 2
  This large-group session will revolve around Grand Officer reports, as well as Committee Reports on the state of the Fraternity.
10:30 - 11:45 AM Navigating Changes for a Safe Environment.
  Understanding liability insurance sub-limits changes, intervention training, and responsible social event planning are paramount to sustainability in this age.
Noon – 1:00PM Keynote Lunch: Phi Kap's Impact on Being a CEO

Robert Crawford (Dickinson College, Epsilon Chapter, 1960) is the Founder, Retired Chairman and Senior Advisor of Brook Furniture Rental, Inc., a national chain with 600 employees offering high quality residential and office furnishings for temporary use.  Brook was founded by Mr. Crawford in 1979.

Of the many hats he has worn, Brother Crawford is past Chairman of the Board of Directors and a Director of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the 2016 Chicago Olympic Committee.

His involvement in Phi Kappa Sigma and passion for leadership made him a successful CEO and his story is one to be shared with our members.

1:15 – 4:00PM Phi Kappa Sigma Male College

Facilitated by Headquarters Staff as well as volunteers, members will attend a number of small-group breakout discussions on a variety of topics, by choosing whichever topics interest them most. Topics include:


  • Successfully Social - Managing Your Presence
  • Plan Your Year on Mitchell Chapter Standards
  • Tools to Recruit Tomorrow's Members
  • The ABCs of Communicating Generations X, Y, and Z
  • HQ & U - Let's Both Build a Better Relationship


  • Today's Students - Current Higher Ed Landscape
  • Advising Roles & Responsibilities
  • Handling Crisis as a Volunteer
4:15 – 5:15PM Regional Caucuses (Undergrads/Volunteers)
  Led by each region’s Grand Delta, members will explore region-specific issues, ideas, and/or event planning.
  Alumni Caucuse (Alumni/Volunteers)
  Two years ago we held an alumni focus group - learn about what the Fraternity has done because of that. This will also be an opportunity to share insights for the next two years.
6:00 – 10:00PM Alumni Reception (Alumni and Their Guests Only)
  The Phi Kappa Sigma Foundation is sponsoring an alumni reception. Come enjoy appetizers and cocktails.

Saturday, July 30

8:00 – 9:00AM Continental Breakfast
9:15 – 10:45AM Ritual Exemplification (Initiated Members Only)
  Join the Grand Alpha for a review and history of the Phi Kappa Sigma Ritual including explanations of secrets and symbols.
11:00 AM – 1:30PM General Session - Day 3 (Initiated Members Only)
  This session will revolve around discussing and voting on legislation, including the elections of the the 2016-2018 Grand Officers.
5:30 – 6:30PM Cocktail Reception (Open to All Attendees and Guests)
6:30 – 7:00PM Group Photo
  Members should make sure to attend this to be a part of the group photo that is added to the Fraternity's archives.
7:00 – 10:00PM Awards Banquet
  Recognize and celebrate all of the accomplishments our chapters, volunteers, and alumni have made in the past two years since the last Grand Chapter, while enjoying a delicious three-course plated dinner.
